The Alliance Supports Continued Permitting

The Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance recognizes the importance of maintaining continuity of government – particularly for keeping state agencies on the critical job of processing permit applications – during the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis.

The Alliance signed onto a letter supporting the Governor in her efforts to continue processing permits for environmental, developmental, and construction projects. Signatories recognize that permit applications submitted and processed today will make it easier for industries and businesses of all types to create and grow jobs. We all can do our part as we work together to recover and rebuild Michigan’s economy. Nearly 30 organizations from all over the state-supported the continuity of permitting to more quickly and efficiently begin work on projects that create and protect jobs as we emerge from the severe economic and employment impacts caused by the current health crisis.
