As the snow continues to fly across northern Michigan and we look for signs of spring, the PURE MICHIGAN campaign is heating up. After introducing an increased budget for the coming year, this week the national advertising campaign began and will run through June. The spring/summer television campaign was allocated just over 13 million dollars with an additional contribution from five partners of 3 million dollars. The commercials are set to air more than 5,000 times on several national cable networks. Beginning April 1, advertisements from the five partners — Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Mackinac Island, Traverse City and The Henry Ford will join the large number of commercials airing across the nation.
