One Size Does Not Fit All
The Budget is on its way to the Governor
The State House spent most of the morning working on the two 2012 omnibus budgets and passed both of them by early afternoon. The Senate then followed along with the House and passed the budget bills this afternoon. For the first time in close to fifty years a state budget is done by May.
The Governor had asked for the budget to be done by June 1, what he will get is two budgets a General Omnibus Budget and a School Aid Budget. The budget passage followed last Thursdays announcement that a deal had been reached.
